THE STORY BEHIND "WHILE HE'S SLEEPING"

I love art, but I don't think art loves me that much. I'm not really great with sketching and creative doodling, and they are one of my frustrations. A friend showed pictures and told me about a mom that does art attacks on her daughter and inspired me to do it with my little monster while he's sleeping. I get inspirations with things happening around or occasions for the month. I always make it to a point that what I do would be original and something I would be proud of that I can say 'I did that!' since the idea was not that original.

I started with a typical scene, a kid with a dog in the park and flying a kite.

Then the themes would just pop in my head like when we were watching a basketball game, so I thought since little monster has a Jordan's jersey, why not make him the MJ trademark jump.

or when I wanted to go to Clark, Pampanga for the annual Hot Air Balloon Fiesta...

when I just watched Aladdin...

and so on. I use a lot of shirts and sometimes if I need something and can't find any, I cheat by cutting papers or drawing for a more specific look, and oh! I keep a lot of ribbons from gifts, they always come in handy.
