DIY GAS STATION PUMP CARDBOARD

My parents gave Joaquin this police car last christmas so I thought, wouldn't it be cool to have a gas station too? I enjoy doing DiY projects, it challenges me to be resourceful and creative not to mention it's inexpensive!

ANTI-GRAVITY YOGA at BEYOND YOGA

This picture was taken almost a year ago, my first time to try anti-gravity yoga at their High Street branch (I didn't bother to have a picture of the place and their facilities as I wasn't that serious with my blogging yet) by the way, it is suggested to wear sleeves because the hammock can dig into your arms. It got me curious to try this kind of yoga since it was new to me. I like things that are not common, uncommon things are more special - that's just me I guess. If you guys are intimidated to try because you think you have to be flexible or have no yoga background, don't be! They have beginners class. I did ballet for years so it wasn't that hard in terms of stretching... BUT what was challenging though was the hold or poses similar to the regular yoga, you see I live a sedentary lifestyle after the little monster came out and having undergone CS, I have been out of the exercising world a bit too long that my body is not used to these kinds of activity anymore.

MY LITTLE MAN

When I learned that I'll be having a boy, the first thing I thought was "how will I dress him up?"

Turned out it wasn't so hard after all!
I love the summery look of colored pants and the little man look with the polo shirts.

Here are some of his "OOTD"

LETTER PANCAKES AND DOODLES

We are preparing the little monster for school and I'm so happy he knows some of the letters already. So even we are having breakfast I try to teach him in a way he will have fun. He enjoys identifying the letters he knows.

POTTY TRAINING YOUR LITTLE ONE

I started to make him wear his briefs, since it's new to him, he pees first before he tells me but eventually he learned he is not suppose to. I wasn't too patient in training him before but he'll be going to school soon so I though I have to step up with this potty thing. I tried waiting for him to pee while he is sitting on his potty but he never goes, even if I bribe him.

HOW TO REMOVE PERMANENT MARKER STAINS FROM CLOTHES

I've been searching the net on how to remove permanent marker stains on clothing and I usually see hand sanitizer or alcohol as a solution though there are still other ways like borax and hot water etc. but I haven't tried those, I only resorted to the easy-to-find-in-the-house solutions. Hand sanitizer seems to have an effect but it didn't wash the ink totally.

TRAVELING WITH YOUR CHILD

This one is a long overdue post. Last March we celebrated little monster's 2nd birthday in the happiest place on earth which I'll be blogging separately.

So, it's Joaquin's first time to travel, and I'm lucky my mom is with me. We used to travel when I was little and I consider her a pro when it comes to traveling with a child, actually she's a pro in everything I can think of!

When we finalize that we were traveling, I heard advices like some people told me I can use Benadryl so he would be drowsy during the flight to avoid angry stares when he gets cranky and starts screaming, while my mom advised me to just let him drink water or milk from time to time to help the ears pop especially during take off and landing. Of course I took my mom's advice; one, because she is my mother, she speaks from experience and two, I am not comfortable giving meds to the little monster unless he really needs it.

EXERCISING WITH YOUR BABY

Admit it, most of us are longing for our pre-baby body back. Not all of us has a body of Miranda Kerr or other famous individuals that after giving birth *poof* their body bounces back to its previous state.

They say breastfeeding and gradually resuming exercise help moms lose weight. But what about those mothers that underwent CS delivery and those that weren't able to breastfeed? Well, I'm one of them, I only did two weeks. My little one had some trouble latching and wasn't able to get more than he needs. So I tried pumping, but my milk didn't exceed 2oz on every pump and eventually my supply stopped. I also underwent CS and was told not to exercise after at least 6 months.

BASIC CREPES

I never really learned how to cook real foods, I don't know how's that but it's either burnt or a bit raw (I know, what is wrong with me? ha ha). Little monster is lucky his dad knows how or else we'll all starve! Anyways, I may not be good in cooking, but I compensate with desserts... well BASIC desserts ;-)

BABY ART ATTACK: ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE

Lately, I've been doing doodles before making his "#wackysartattack" as we "hashtagged" it in Instagram (want to see more? follow me, @iamstubborn). I want to have compilations of the idea before making them.

I spent more time fixing the house and punching colored papers for the balloons. Unfortunately, my puncher is not functioning properly, it would be better if I did more. Either way, I'm quite happy with the outcome.

BABY ART ATTACK

It's been a while since my last sleeping art attack with the little monster, and I'm maximizing all the time before he's not so little anymore. Here are some from the past few days.

"A POEM IS..."

As I was browsing youtube for the little monster to watch, I came across Disney Jr UK, they have short videos with poems being read. This one's my favorite:

A MOTHER'S SONG
a traditional lullaby

My heart is like a fountain true
that flows with love to you
as chirps the lark unto the tree
so chirps my pretty babe to me

There is not a rose wherever I seek
as comely as my baby's cheek
there is not a comb of honey bee
so full of sweets as babe to me

There's not a star that shines on high
is brighter than my baby's eye
There's not a boat upon the sea
can dance as baby does to me

No silk was ever spun so fine
as is the hair of baby mine
My baby smells more sweet to me
than smells in spring the elder tree

A little fish swims in the well
So in my heart does baby dwell
A little flower blows on the tree
My baby is the flower to me

Ten thousand parks where deer do run
Ten thousand roses in the sun
Ten thousand pearls beneath the sea
my babe more precious is to me.

PANCAKE HEARTS

I love eating and making pancakes fun! I sometimes put food color and shape it with cookie cutters. Joaquin enjoys them too! He gets attracted with the shape and color he tends to eat more.

Happy Valentines from the little monster!

LOVE FOR BOOKS

Back when I was a kid, I enjoy reading. I had tons of books, fairy tales, sweet valley series, nancy drew series... So even though little monster cannot read yet, I make sure I read stories to him at least twice a day hoping he'll like books as much as I do. As I noticed, it is easier and faster for him to go to sleep when while he's drinking his milk, I read him a story. Easier for me too! That's why I call my little one, little monster because whenever he's awake, he can be very and I mean very hyper! It's hard to do the stuffs that I want to do since I have to keep an eye on him. He broke and destroyed quite a few things already.

I hear many people say that reading to kids would be good for their vocabulary and especially when they don't speak yet. Yes, my little monster Joaquin doesn't talk yet but he babbles more syllables aside from ma-ma and beeeee. He seems to speak a different language when he tries to talk. Before, I just read to him whenever I can because sometimes I would just like to lay down and rest, but now I see to it that I read a book at least twice a day. Ever since I started the twice-a-day books, that's when I hear him babble more and tries to talk instead of us looking as if we were trying to play the game charades. I guess I should've done this sooner, at least I started :)

HAPPY HEARTS DAY!

Happy Valentine's Day! From the little monster cupid :)

THE STORY BEHIND "WHILE HE'S SLEEPING"

I love art, but I don't think art loves me that much. I'm not really great with sketching and creative doodling, and they are one of my frustrations. A friend showed pictures and told me about a mom that does art attacks on her daughter and inspired me to do it with my little monster while he's sleeping. I get inspirations with things happening around or occasions for the month. I always make it to a point that what I do would be original and something I would be proud of that I can say 'I did that!' since the idea was not that original.

I started with a typical scene, a kid with a dog in the park and flying a kite.
