MALUNGGAY PESTO

I just recently found out that you can subtitute malunggay for basil to make  pesto. Please don't judge, never been good with cooking :)

You'll need:
a blender
malunggay leaves
oregano
olive oil
nuts can be cashew or pine nuts (in our case we only resorted to what is in the fridge, walnut)
garlic
grated parmesan cheese
salt
pepper
pasta

Ratio:
1 cup malunggay leaves : 1 cup olive oil : 1 cup oregano : 1 tbsp nuts

Tip:
Use angel hair or fettucini pasta for an oil based sauce.

Steps:
1. Don't forget to cook your pasta first, because I did! :D unless you are not in a hurry to eat, doesn't really matter. I just think it is practical to do the pasta first so you can make the sauce while waiting for the pasta to cook. Saves time.

2. I like to mix the malunggay leaves and oregano together in a bowl first before mixing it with the other ingredients

3. blend the nuts and garlic then add a little olive oil

4. add the malunggay leaves and oregano then pour all the olive oil left

5. then the parmesan cheese (as many as you want)

6. dap a pinch of salt and pepper

7. personally, I prefer mixing the sauce with the pasta in the pan while heating it before serving rather than mixing it on the plate

I hope this has been useful. Enjoy!
